Origin and interesting facts
Emblica officinalis - the fruit of the Amla tree, which is native throughout India, is one of the most important medicinal plants in Ayurvedic medicine.
Amalaki (or Amla) has such extensive health-promoting effects that it is often described in Ayurvedic writings as a “divine medicinal plant”.
The amla fruit is considered the most concentrated source of vitamin C in the plant kingdom - it has around 30 times the amount of an orange!
The vitamin C in the Amla fruit is stable against heat and light and can be absorbed particularly well by the organism.
Amla improves the absorption of calcium in the organism and thus supports the mineralization of teeth, bones, hair and nails.
Amla also supports the absorption of iron in the body and promotes blood formation.
Together with a protein-rich diet, Amla promotes the development of muscle tissue and is therefore also interesting for athletes.
Amalaki is a valuable component of Triphala, an Ayurvedic remedy consisting of 3 components with incredible effects and a very broad spectrum of effects.
The 3 components are Haritaki, Bibhitaki and Amalaki and are mixed in a 1:1:1 ratio.
