Interesting facts
Kratom (also called "Biak", "Mabog" or "Katawn") refers to the leaves of the red sentol tree, which are used both fresh and dried in pharmacy as a medicinal drug (e.g. to relieve pain, diarrhea, fever or as a wound dressing ), can be used as an intoxicant or as an opioid substitute or simply as a stimulant.
The main component is the alkaloid mitragynine, which occurs in different amounts depending on the variety (red, white or green) and determines the effect.
In general, kratom has a paradoxical effect and has a stimulating effect at low doses and a sedative to trippy effect at higher doses.
 
Depending on the drying process, a distinction is made between green, white, yellow (golden) and red Kratom.
 
WHITE Kratom has a stimulating, euphoric effect and supports creative processes. It is also said to ensure concentration, endurance and motivation on long working days.
 
RED Kratom has a calming, relaxing effect and ensures a clear mind. It gives a feeling of well-being, relaxes the muscles and can be used as a sleep aid for insomnia.
 
GREEN Kratom has an activating, invigorating, exhilarating effect and helps against fatigue.  
 
Legal situation
In Austria, kratom is not subject to the Narcotics Act, but is subject to the Novel Food Ordinance, according to which it does not fall into the “food” category and may not be labeled as such.
The legal situation is similar in Germany.
Kratom is illegal and therefore banned in the following European countries:
Denmark, France, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland.
Delivery to these countries is therefore not possible.
