Kratom (also called "Biak", "Mabog" or "Katawn") describes the leaves of the red sentol tree, which are used both fresh and dried in pharmacy as a medicinal drug (e.g. to relieve pain,_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_for diarrhea, for fever or as a wound dressing), as an intoxicant or as an opioid substitute or simply as a stimulant.
The main component is the alkaloid mitragynine, which occurs in different amounts depending on the variety (red, white or green) and determines the effect.
In general: Kratom has a paradoxical effect and is stimulating at_lower doses and sedating until trippy at higher doses.
 
Depending on the color of the leaf veins and the stem, which are removed beforehand when the whole leaves are chewed, a distinction is made between white, red and green kratom.
 
WHITE kratom  has a stimulating, euphoric effect and supports creative processes. It is also said to ensure concentration, endurance and motivation on long working days.
 
RED Kratom  has a calming, relaxing effect and ensures a clear mind. It gives a feeling of well-being, relaxes muscles and can be used as a sleep aid for insomnia.
 
GREEN kratom  has an activating, invigorating, exhilarating effect and helps against tiredness.

In Austria  Kratom is not subject to the Narcotics Act, but is subject to the Novel Food Regulation.
The legal situation is similar in Germany.
Kratom is illegal and therefore forbidden in the following European countries:
Denmark, France, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland.
Delivery to these countries is therefore not possible.
